About This Event
The YOUth Make a Difference Run is a 5k race for serious runners and walk/jog for the not so serious. The first 500 registrants get a dri-fit T-Shirt, goodie bag, refreshments, and a raffle ticket. Dri-fit T-Shirt and goodie bag guaranteed to the first 500 registrants. Proceeds raised benefit the Youth Services, a non-profit organization helping families in Glenview and Northbrook. Come out and enjoy the run/walk through Gallery Park with food, refreshments, and entertainment for all at the finish line!
Volunteers
Volunteers are both needed and welcome. We need adults, children and especially Scout groups to help with packet preparation, the registration process, water station, race marshals, directing runners and food distribution. Volunteers will receive an official race T-shirt, entry into the post-race raffle and the satisfaction of helping a worthy cause.
Awards
Prizes and plaques will be awarded to the overall male and female winners, medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each age group, and ribbons will be presented to all child registrants through age 10. Age Groups: 6-8, 9-11,12-14,15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 & Over
Course Description
The 5k course is flat and fast, starting on Chestnut St. and, then, through a residential neighborhood in The Glen, with the last 2 miles run through scenic Gallery Park.
Entry Fee Includes
T-Shirt, goodie bag, refreshments, raffle ticket, and results postcard. T-Shirt and goodie bag guaranteed to the first 500 registrants. Awards for various age categories and top male and female finishers. Food, refreshments, and entertainment for all participants.
